My first visit to Whole Foods

I'm a sucker for big beautiful stores with long display cases full of gorgeous food. It was about time that I went to a Whole Foods Market. Of course I immediately got carried away and bought a big box full of salads and veggies and meats. I spent hours staring at the colourful cupcakes and fresh breads. But at the same time I felt slightly sickened by this gluttonous overload of food

I'm not convinced you can really call your produce natural and organic when you've flown it in all the way from Chile and Argentina. Who needs blueberries and strawberries in Winter?

Eataly in Italy

I just spent a week in Turin working at Artissima Art Fair. Next to the fair ground is Eatly, an Italian food supermarket chain that focuses on slow food, local found and organic products. Throughout the market are little restaurants where you can eat all the products on sale. The place is huge and you can get anything your foodie heart desires: fresh vegetables, fish, all kinds of meats, sausages and prosciuttos, lots of cheeses, dozens of olive oils, pastas, jars of pestos, sauces and ragus etc
Need I say that I went totally wild and filled my car to the top with wonderful things. It's Schlaraffenland!!!

Road Trip: Munich

After a long drive along the beautiful Deutsch Alpenstrasse we arrived in Munich. One of the first places we visited was the famous Delicatessen Dallmayr. It left us quite speechless and very hungry! We felt like we were in 'Schlaraffenland'!
